Bullies usually have no trouble at all forgetting the fact that they bullied somebody

Bullies usually have no trouble at all forgetting the fact that they bullied somebody.

It does not work that way, however, with somebody who was bullied, you see.

Why are you so upset that some people refuse to stop calling a spade a spade, again?

And people who can't (or won't) stop brooding over their wrongs not infrequently have no trouble using those wrongs as an excuse to be vile to others.

Nursing and perpetuating one's sense of injury is a favorite activity of assholes.

I'm sorry the fact that I'm now skittish of large groups because I was beat up by one is inconvenient and assholish to you. :)

Ah, the voice of the bully, wanting to justify themselves.

YES! This exactly. Thank you.

Ah, the voice of the person who wears their victimhood like a badge of honor.

In fact, I was bullied a good deal as a child, but nice job jumping to conclusions.

you sound like the bullies, and you sound like, "If you don't shut up about it, you're not a good victim."

Stuff it. If we don't talk about it, if we don't talk about how we survived to be remotely functional, then nothing is ever fucking done.

That's not "wearing victimhood like a badge of honor." That's "wearing the fact you survived as a badge of honor."

But hey, I was nearly beaten to death, so obviously my voice means nothing since I'm just ~being a victim~.

+1

Because seriously, you need to get the fuck over it because the only person it's making miserable is you.

You know how much time your bully spends thinking about you now? None. Zero. Nada. He/she doesn't even remember your name. I know that burns, but it's true. They don't think about you. At all. If someone else brings you up they say "who? Oh, that geek? Whatever happened to them?" That's it. Yet you continue to let them rent space in your head. Get therapy. Read self-help books. Do whatever you need to do, but get over it already.

No one else gives a shit that your teen years were shitty. They only care that you're trying to use it as an excuse to be a shitty person now.

Just because you don't give a shit that somebody's teen years were shitty, it doesn't mean everybody feels that way, anon.

Really.
