It always surprises me how friggin' tall Taylor Swift is. 5'11" god damn girl.

For a Hollywood actor, it does.

Opposite gender example: 5'4" is average height for a woman, but if she were a supermodel, she would be a notably short female supermodel.

He's gotta be 6'2", he's taller than my damn brother. What's so surprising are his proportions -- he's not all lanky like most tall guys, and the videos and photos all look about 5'10", tops. It totally threw me.

Not crushes, but I used to think Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill were kind of short because they looked to be the same height as Karen Gillian. Turns out they're closer to average and she's actually quite tall.

I also used to assume the shorter brother on Supernatural was average and the taller one was tall. Turns out the short one is tall and the tall one is a giant.

Well, I had a mild rush on Peter Dinklage, so...

I'm 5'9" myself, if the online converter tells me correctly. I don't really mind, I'm with someone shorter irl, too. I think it's sort of cool to know how I'd relate to celebs height-wise, but that's about it.

I'm not a watcher of Supernatural anymore, but it always amuses me how your average viewer thinks the actors who play certain characters are short. No, they're really not--Jared Padalecki is 6'4", and he kind of looms over other characters, even otherwise tall people. (Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins are 6'1" and 5'11" respectively. So...not short.)

Scarlett Johansson is only 5'3", which always really surprises me, especially in her action roles. I'm actually taller than she is, and I'm considered short by almost everyone I know.

Yeah, I'm 5'4", but everyone else in my family is nearing or above 6 feet, as are most of my friends. I'm quite short, comparatively.
