I run a fic and art exchange and I wish everyone had your attitude. As it is, I have some people who turn in amazing work, some who just do the bare minimum, and some who do nothing at all and disappear without trace. (Sometimes, I wade in and offer to beta for people, especially when it's obvious that English isn't their first language).

And, as you say, it's the principle. It's irrelevant that it's fandom -- it could be original stories, or sewing, or baking cakes; it doesn't matter. They've made a commitment, they've been paired up with a partner, and they're letting that partner down (to say nothing of giving me ulcers).
