Oh God, Clone Thor. There was a lot of dumb shit going on in the Civil War arc, but that angered me off the most for some reason. I was so glad when actual!Thor came back and smacked Tony down for using his likeness to hurt his friends.

And it was so vastly out of character - making a semi-robot clone of one of your close friends, what??? Tony is absolutely the type to do terrible things to himself in misguided causes, but nothing like that.

Ugh, Mark Millar. He should never be allowed near anyone else's characters, because his need to display his cool! hardcore! cynicism! wrecks perfectly good story concepts. Also, he can't write endings. And the rest of Marvel should have had enough sense not to give him free range.

Yeah, pretty much everything in Civil War was so out of character that I couldn't even begin to suspend my disbelief. I still can't get over the fact that Peter Parker of all people revealed his identify to the public after one measly conversation with Tony despite the fact that he's been one of the heroes who most zealously guarded his secret identity (especially after he personally saw how much it fucked up Daredevil's life when his identity got blown). Plus, that also helped lead to One More Day which is everyone's other least favorite Marvel plotline.

It was a particularly fun smackdown due to the fact that he was totally willing to help Tony, and still had faith in him, just with the caveat of "I will END you"
