More sedately: it's a really well made, well-acted, well-directed show that's also immensely influential on television. I can't recommend it enough. If you like David Lynch, small-town Americana with a kernel of darkness at the center, dark fantasy dreamscapes, strange murder mysteries, or slightly surrealist soap operas, you should definitely check it out. The second season drags a bit but it's really good.
