Tumblr and XKit....

Hope I'm not way too late.... But the last time i update XKit, it basically fire-bombed FF and destroyed my bookmarks (yay for backups!)

I know XKit had some issues a few weeks ago - might it be safe to reinstall now?

Should be safe now. I have had no problems. Save your bookmarks just in case. I heard he was working on an extension to get back the old post style as well. I can't wait.

Thanks, i'm going to try tonight. I'm so annoyed with Tumblr without my blacklist. I...don't really get the new post/old post thing. Except for the position of the logout and etc. buttons, Tumblr looks pretty much the same to me?

Maybe i just don't notice things....

The photo layout sucks. They got rid of the side padding. So now 500px gifs are like 540px. 245 is like 260 something. 160 is like 177.1.

This makes GIFs/Photos created in the old sizes look stretched and sort of blurry. Also, even thought they made the big ones 540, tumblr only supports GIF sizes up to 500! So even if you make a 540px gif, it will look stretched. Because Tumblr compresses it to 500 for the upload then stretches it to 540.

Also, for sets with 3 photos next to each other, it is slightly off center. Because of the weird size, there is a blank pixel. As seen here.

Huh. I must just not...notice, i guess. Nothing looked weird to me today on Tumblr. I can see it being an irritation, though, that's for sure.

Well, I use Chrome mostly, but I had uninstalled XKit around the same time because it wasn't working well, and now I have reinstalled it in irritation with the Tumblr redesign.

I can tolerate the floating header on YouTube, even if I don't like it; but Tumblr's seems particularly ill-advised to me.

ETA: It hasn't blown up on me yet...

It kept giving me this weird error for a bit, but I didn't know what it was actually having an issue with, and then the great meltdown occured, so....

I guess i'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
