They blame the person who they last heard say something loudly. Because disturbing their peace is the entire conflict, to them. :/

Guilt tripping makes me feel slimy. I really prefer to be upfront. XD

Thank you! I'm honestly more worried about the job than the apartment - I think I have some good options for places to live, though it's very possible I'll have to try to talk my parents into letting me stay with them until there's space available if I find one that isn't currently open.

Being upfront is cool. \0/ I say, do what comes naturally.

So many live with their parents, but I hope the apartment works out.
