I hate to use the word, especially since I know it's thrown around a lot, but Lana has said a lot of problematic things regarding her character, to the point where it's honestly hard to tell if she realizes that her character has raped people, has murdered people, and is abusive.

You must have a lot of trouble with reading comprehension if you can't differentiate from an actress speaking about her character and an actress speaking from her character's POV.

I literally don't care if she's speaking from her character's POV or not, her character is a vile human being.

Compare her to Robert Carlyle who acknowledges that his character is awful, and has done awful things.

Lana refuses to acknowledge that, an instead eggs her fans on.

That's not even getting into her queerbaiting when it comes to SwanQueen.

I have seen absolutely zero subtext there to even base a ship on, much less call it queerbaiting. The Queerbaiting happened with Aurora and Mulan, but then it went just far enough that it was actually a little bit more than queerbaiting, but then all the characters were shuffled away so quickly that yeah, that was queerbaiting.

Gosh, this, and actors have to connect to their character on some level, you know. Not necessarily like them, but they have to get their motivations. I found it so interesting, I heard a Q&A with Robert Knepper, who plays T-Bag (a child rapist and murderer) in Prison Break. And he was basically talking about getting into that character and trying to understand (but not excuse him) and it was really interesting...

Basically, the actress has to explain Regina's motivations to herself to some level, or the character would become unplayable.
