I think wanting the character to die is different from wanting the actress to die. As the actress playing Regina, she wants the character to die because it would be better for her character. That isn't remotely saying that she wants the actress to die or anything about the actress at all.

Her fans are trashing Chris L, the actress, because of what her character, Marian, is doing. Lana then goes on Twitter and says she wants Marian to die. It's an irresponsible thing to say knowing that her more... enthusiastic fans can't differentiate between reality and fantasy.

Obviously Lana isn't tweeting that she wants Chris to die. She's still deliberately fanning the flames and tacitly encouraging her fans to keep acting out because she rewards the bad behavior.
