I've suffered severe physical abuse at the hands of people with those accents. Sorry to the population of that country and that city, but your accent now freaks me out. I've had enough therapy to manage it in casual social situations, but there is no way I'd ever be able to cope with it in any sort of intimate relationship. I have no idea, why of all the varied characteristics that those abusers had, that my brain latched onto their accents, but it did.
