I don't think it's fact, but it's no skin off my nose if people believe this stuff." He seemed weirdly invested in shouting down people who like this stuff. Like, he couldn't deal with the fact that his math friends were open-minded about this -- like it was against any conceivable version of the universe that if you trusted math, you could accept magic/psychic/supernatural stuff.
I don't think it's out-of-character for him to reject psychics but I do think it was out-of-character for the Charlie from the first season to end up being so closed-minded about his friends having a different perspective on things from him. It was the WAY he wasn't open-minded that really turned me off.
