It's sad that this has to be a secret. :( She's by far the more interesting character.

Amen to that.

I'm not a fan of Jenny/Scruff McGruff either. Could've done without their make-out moment a few episodes ago.

I actually sort of liked that. Mostly because I enjoyed how Jenny played him But I'm hating how it seems that the show is setting up Jenny and Abbie for some sort of relationship drama with Hawley. I dunno, just seems they're lookng to give the sisters some conflict and brought in Hawley for it.

You know that's exactly what they're going for, but I hope they write Jenny to be above that. I hope that she helps bust Irving out. Or there's more screen time between her and Irving because I really liked their chemistry.

I also think he's there to serve as a foil for Crane. Recall the weeping woman episode? Crane looked totally helpless in front of Abbie, when Scruff McGruff came in to save her. And I do love the little tinges of jealousy I see in Crane's eyes when Mcgruffin is around.

I hate that this is more than likely the path they're going to take. I don't know why Abbie and Jenny need to be in conflict over anything, especially a man. Theres plent of conflict going on between Abbie and others, why toss Jenny into it? I just want more of Jenny and Abbie being awesome, badass sisters together and fight the war with Ichabod. I'd love for Jenny to break out Irving and for Irving to get more fucking screentine. To take a more active role instead of rotting in that hospital. This season is a bit disappointing.

I like Hawley as a foil to Ichabod. I like how he gets under his skin. I do like it when he's cooperating and working with Abbie and Ichabod. They click and work well together. But I don't think he was a necessary addition to the cast. I dunno, I'm conflicted about him

Really? I didn't see any sort of attraction re: Abbie and Hawley. And while I think Jenny should get lots more screen time vs Hawley (And Irving, too), i don't mind their on-again, off-again/ex who might not be ex forever 'ship.

She played him, she baffles him, i like that.

I don't see any attraction between them Abbie and Hawley. But Jenny's reaction to seeing them together sort of set off alarm bells in my head that the writers are going to make her jealousand set up conflict between the sisters because of him.

Dang, i don't remember a scene like that. I'll have to go rewatch. I hope they don't, that's booooooring.

It's really brief. Like, a 2 second jerk and scowl. Abbie was on the floor with her papers and Hawley was in the chair beside her and they were talking and chmmy. I want to interpret it as "WTF are you doing hanging with my sister you are no good for her" but I'm probably not meant to.

Hrmmmmm.

Or, lets look at it as 'Hawley, you weasel, don't you dare screw my sister over!'

:)

Pretty much. If they do go the jealousy route, I hope they don't forget that Jenny is the person who repeatedly institutionalized herself for over a decade to make sure she didn't try to kill her sister while possessed by a demon, and that was when she was permanently pissed off at Abbie. Having a guy affect that level of devotion would be pretty cheap.

It really would. But we *are* talking about 'Hollywood' writers. So, I guess we'll see.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-05 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I wasn't sure if it had actually happened or if I misremembered it.

It was very "blink and you'll miss it," but also pretty distinct if you caught it.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-05 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Again, thanks for confirming that wasn't imagining it. :) I hope they don't go down that road.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-05 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like like the above user said. It was super brief and I was surprised I caught it at all. I may be making a mountain out of a molehill, but it was enough to make me worry about where they're going with it.

I'm going to go with 'you dare fuck my sister over in her fight against evil and i will end you. you weasel.'

:)

(Anonymous) 2014-11-05 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
I wish I could be that optimistic. :( I will try to think of it that way though!

Yay!

(Anonymous) 2014-11-05 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
It's because if you imply that Hawley is actually not that interesting compared to some of the other characters, people are all, "omg you're just saying that cuz he's a white guy!"

I'm not sure if people who say that actually watch the show, tbh. Jenny is a fascinating character, period. I'd love to see her involved more with what's going on.
