I don't think what the Egyptian parents did is relevant, in today's terms, to what was done to the Egyptian children. It was probably relevant back then. I know Job's family was killed just to test his faith. But even if you get me to sit through nine-tenths of a movie that I disagree with, killing kids is one of the things like rape or torture that's not going to leave me with any sympathy for your heroes.
