I kind of agree with you, anon. But I like relationships that are implied when there's an obvious consequence to being open about said relationship (e.g. it's between military members and violates fraternization regulations, or if it were known it could incur some kind of violent reaction from people around them).

I think in those sorts of situations it's just realistic. I like it even more if there's a definitive reveal later, though.
