I'm an only slash fan (primarily femslash rather than male slash though). I end up only shipping those since the rest of the media has all of the straight couples so I don't really feel the need to ship them outside of shows and really don't. Lol. There's just an overabundance of het ships so I don't have any need. Also generally my ships have friends in the fics so I do end up with relationships explored that aren't pairings/sexual. :) I don't really read gen because I already get that in the slash if that makes sense.
