That was my conclusion. The story and performances didn't live up to the art direction, (with different styles used for five different forms of narrative reality), or the two original songs that were weighted down by dumb pop culture references. Really, "Do ya think I'm sexy?"

Yea, I kinda felt that way about the songs. Like, the Apology Song was really well-done and moving for me, but the movie is cluttered with a bunch of needless modern songs. I wish they had done all original composition, honestly.

I also could have done with a WHOLE LOT less of this frame story schoolkids, like, having them interject during moments of drama was awful
