In fairness, though, the plot of the reboots is basically REEVEENGE with Wrath of Khan references and old Spock (and now old Kirk since Shatner's been contacted) so it's not exactly a high bar to pass.

Your story definitely sounds cool on its own however.

How can there be Old Kirk if Kirk died? Picard buried him under some rocks and I'm sure Picard is the kind of person who would check for a pulse first.

I am sorry and I feel bad, but I actually laugh.

Ayrt

Don't feel bad. I meant it to be kind of funny!

Shatner's been contacted to appear in the third movie so they're going to work it in SOMEHOW.

Maybe an old message or something. Maybe they'll go back or forward in time or cross dimensions. Hell if I know. Shatner's in the film though from the reports I've read.

Hell, I love the man but this does NOT inspire confidence in the slightest. Just smells like desperation.

Maybe he's there to greet Spock!Prime when he dies?

That…would actually be super cute. Now I'm hoping you're secretly one of the writers.

Although part of me kind of hates this idea too because Gene Roddenberry envisioned Star Trek as pretty atheistic (secular, at least) and having a definitive afterlife would seem to run counter to that.

AYRT.

If I'd been one of the writers Star Trek Into Darkness would have been a lot different.

It could be an allucination?

I loved the first one but haaaaaaaated Into Darkness. Like, man, you're alREADY cannabilizing the old plots? The hell? You couldn't think of anything original?

The when I found out the writer was a Truther--and those ideas infested Into Darkness--I abandoned all hope. Have no desire to see any of the new ones.

Whats a truther?

Somebody who believes the 9/11 terrorists attacks were arranged by the US Government.

I guess they could canonize Shatner's novels where a Borg/Romulan alliance bring him back to life and he has further adventures.
