I was skeptical going in, and it's kinda weird that they treat the Frozen movie as 100% canon, with the only real twist that Elsa's parents were looking to de-magic her when they went out to sea, and died (or so it seems)...

But I'm really liking it Anna is a adorable in the flashbacks, and I'm shipping Elsa, and Emma too... there is this whole "non magic people," don't get us thing that the characters are bonding over... (Emma and Regina to an extent too, though Regina is still sore at Emma for screwing up her love life).

I was prepared to drop it if the Frozen stuff got too hokey, or if Regina backslid too much to being evil, and forcing herself on Robin or killing Marian... I like that she considered it, but is trying to overcome her dark impulses.

I've read that Disney is keeping a very tight rein on the Frozen stuff (I think they even sent someone to the set to oversee things) so they don't have a lot of leeway. That's why so much of it looks like it was lifted straight out of the movie.

Not surprising it just feels a little out of place that every other fairy tale has had massive departures from the source material (not as much as in say Fables *cough*), but nothing is played straight, and everyone knows each other and impacted each others stories... and there's Frozen which plays out the whole movie's events exactly as shown in it's own separate country before joining in on this fun.
