I really identify with this secret, even though they're not too boring in my own current small fandom.

I think it's the feeling of being stuck on a very small island. Like the OP says, you can't go elsewhere. It makes me feel antsy.

I do stupid things when I'm bored, and I hope the OP doesn't fall into that temptation. Stirring up shit is fun for a while, but can almost kill small fandoms in the sad aftermath. I have to keep resisting the temptation myself, and my own small fandom is quite entertaining.

For a moment, I thought this secret was about #2 :P

That's how mine is. I blame some of it on New Internet culture though, everyone mostly talks about themselves.

Find a new fandom?

I mean, that's about all I can think of for you to do. Unless you can find a way to get more interesting people to join your fandom.

Not OP, but I tried and it didn't work. IMHO most fandoms are boring now, except the big ones I'm naturally not into like Sherlock. Show/movie fandoms tend to be 99% celebrity gossip and shitty icon posts, book fandoms seem near nonexistent anymore (although I'm sure there are some, again just not the ones I'm into), and it doesn't matter if it's tumblr or LJ. It's hard to find a good active fandom.
