Exactly. Many diseases that have been nearly eradicated are now making a comeback, because there are enough people not vaccinating their kids. Sure, there might be no epidemic going on at the moment, but all it needs is one person catching the disease from somewhere else and there you go.

Yep, if we had attitudes like the OP's and the anti-vaxxers, we'd still have bloody smallpox lurking around. And for all it is extinct, if they offered me a smallpox vaccine then I'd still take it. Never reject a vaccine.

I've been vaccinated against Smallpox - got the scar on my arm to prove it. Apparently, I was vaccinated in one of the last years before it was discontinued (yes, I'm older than you). Now I can time-travel with impunity - at least when it comes to Smallpox.
