Man, I love all the really obvious makeup the actors wore in TOS. (And probably a lot of other older shows too.)

The thing is, back then, people couldn't really see the makeup. Most people during Star Trek's run had black-and-white TVs, and even color TV's were tiny. It's one of those amusing side-effects of a story outlasting its framework.

Right, I didn't really think about it that way! And now we get to see all the Trek dudes with the blush, blue eye shadow and orange lipstick, haha. Bless.

It's like realizing that the Addams Family home is actually this old school pastel goth look. SO MANY PINKS AND PEACHES AND STUFF. But it worked to give that classic black and white goth look to the show.

I knew Nimoy was in eyeshadow, but what really stood out to me upon seeing TOS in HD was how much makeup was on DeForest Kelley!
