Re: Idea Jamboree

All of that would be normal for me, yes. I do try and hold onto to some of the good ones until I can get a pen and paper and a few minutes to scribble a summary, but usually I just trust that I'll either remember the gist of the good ones or just make up new ones when the next inspiration rush hits. I've a good memory, and reasonably frequent ideas, so it usually works.

The only thing I'll say is, when you do grab a minute to scribble the basics in a notepad or something, try and give as much of the shape and detail as you can on short notice. I have come across the odd thing in some of my old notebooks, ideas scribbled down as a few keywords and cryptic utterances that I'm sure had meaning at the time, and I've no idea what they mean. It's slightly disconcerting, in the 'okay, what the hell was in my brain right then' sort of way. So. You know. Try to be reasonably specific if you take notes. Cryptic keywords are probably not the way to go unless you're going to get a chance to write it fairly shortly afterwards.
