I don't understand.

I was called petty and immature because I posted my opinions in (what I though, at least) was a respectful manner and I continued to answer back when people responded to my posts.

I guess I'm asking if you guys think they were right -- that I WAS being petty and immature -- because I continued to discuss it.

Because I'd always thought that was the purpose of the comments section -- was to have this kind of back and forth discussion.

Okay, I'll stop. I just wanted to know if it was a no-go area.

I really miss forums is all. It felt like the types of discussions I preferred were more acceptable there.

NAYRT. Sometimes it's just the way the winds blow around here. I have had some interesting conversations, but they tend to be shorter than back in the forum days. And some times, people just don't want to bite, particularly with anons.

Not sure if this was in the secrets section, or in the General Comments, but usually you'll get more leeway in GC. (Again, depends on which way the wind is blowing that day...) :)

Yep. Sometimes I feel like I should add some kind of "Not a troll, this is a serious question!" disclaimer to things, especially when it's difficult to read the tone. Sometimes genuine questions come across as sounding wanky or sarcastic when they're really not, so I can't blame people for not wanting to engage on that score.
