Hm ... interesting perspective.

I've been posting fic for 12 years. The fandoms I was writing for a decade or more ago had readers that commented; the fandoms I write for now don't. I have no idea why it's changed, only that it has (although I'm more likely to get comments on the older pieces when people come across them, so I suspect it's more the fandom.)

IMO I don't feel it's "arrogant" to keep posting to crickets, but to me it would passive-aggressive to punish non-commenting readers by witholding the ending. (I'd just take the entire fic down before I did that, tbh.)
