The CGI in that shot is dire. Was that actually thought of as cool and futuristic back then? Did I think it was?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Um, I think it's actually from the Dark Angel video game.

It's still ugly.

OP

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
It is. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a decent picture of Max on the damn Space Needle, considering it was in every episode. At least with the crappy graphic you can tell what it's supposed to be. :/

I'm 99% sure that image is from the video game, which is for the PS2. The show itself was always stunning.

You and me both, OP, you and me both.

Oh my goodness, you too?

This is a glorious evening.

I really loved Dark Angel back in the day - though I must admit I haven't watched it for years, so I'm not sure how it would hold up compared to more modern series.

THERE IS ANOTHER DARK ANGEL FAN ON FS.

*collapses*

I'd watch it, although it would depend on casting.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. The show can stay in the past, thank you very much. We don't need another fucking reboot, and we especially don't need another 'girls eviscerating men by being unrealisticly powerful' show.

Yeah I'd be happier if they cast someone who looks like they actually could kick some ass (where oh where is my Haywire sequel).

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a weird criticism to make, since there's an in-universe explanation for the character being "unrealistically powerful," and people with the same powers/abilities as her can beat her. It's the difference between Superhero vs. Normal person and Superhero vs. Superhero. It's like you're saying, "Wonder Woman is so unrealistically powerful." Well, of course she is, she's not a normal human!

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you feel about the trend of superhero films, aka "men eviscerating other men by being unrealistically powerful"?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, when the show aired it had an interesting plot but the execution was always dismally boring

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps a reboot could keep the good concept and fix the flawed execution?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
I would love to see them reboot this as long as they stayed closer to the season one storyline. Season two was not so good. And as someone else said above, it really would depend a lot on the casting.

Now I want to dig my DVDs out for a rewatch. Thanks OP.

I'd get behind this if Jensen Ackles would still play Alec. Otherwise, I don't think I could watch.

(Though, if we were recasting for a younger cast, Dylan O'Brien could be kind of kick-ass as Alec and Ben and any other clone that might pop up.)

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, how about a 20-years-later Dark Angel, with the same cast. I think that would be kind of awesome.

Except maybe for the weird writing issues they had - except now that Weatherly and Alba are no longer a thing, maybe the weird writing issues would be less - except the awkwardness factor between them would probably be sky high.

I really want this now. For the onscreen drama, and the behind-the-screen drama!

You were a Nun, weren't you?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-12 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Guilty as charged

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
I could *definitely* get behind this!

Completely unrelated, but she was my first celebrity crush...

Anyway, sure give me a Dark Angel reboot I'd watch it! Also find a way to put Jessica Alba in it, even if she isn't the main character anymore. I might or might not still have that celebrity crush.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! A thousand times yes! Ah, Dark Angel! I love me some Max/Alec.
