Hell, I've been taking more fashion/makeup risks lately because I've discovered Holland Roden and I happen to have the same hair/skin/eyes/pear shape as her and now I know what looks good before I waste time at the mall. And I'm technically too old to watch Teen Wolf.

I would love to do my hair in all the cute ways Roden does on Teen Wolf but I'm completely hopeless at hair. My hands can do all sorts of cool things but making hair look pretty is not one of them.

I'm technically too old to watch Teen Wolf

Nonsense. There are kids' shows whose fandoms are made up mostly or completely of adults.

Also Holland Roden is gorgeous and always looks great.

Dude, no one is too old for Teen Wolf. It's cheese for all ages. And Holland Roden is the sexy bomb, the true gift of the world.

Good for you!

I should do that. I seem to be putting all my fashion sense into my art, and turning into more of a horrifying slob myself.

As I've gotten older, the most important thing I've learned about getting older is that there are very few situations where "too old" applies. And this isn't one of them. So keep on keeping on, OP.

You know, whatever makes you happy. Clothing CAN really have impact on how you feel (and how you're perceived)and I don't see how taking inspiration from a fictional crush is any worse than taking inspiration from fashion magazines.

I see nothing wrong with this as long as you're enjoying yourself. I think I've become a bit better dressed in recent years as well, partially because of all the cool, stylish people I watch on tv and in movies. (Though I still wear jeans and t-shirts because I love me some jeans and t-shirts, I am more open to skirts/dresses/etc now. Also, I totally bought a top with arrows on it because it reminded me of Allison Argent. The girls on TW have nice style!)

And I want that. (That being the clothing in the secret.)

Whatever works for you OP.

Out of curiosity, how do you figure out what clothing your fictional crush would like on a partner? What their love interests in canon wear or do you choose a style similar to what they wear?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Well that looks like Clara from Doctor Who in the picture. So I'm guessing just following fashions for early 20s girls who have a things for bow ties and gym teachers. Although going by the last episode, the goth-Mary Poppins look might work out better OP.

Nothing wrong with that! Do what makes you happy!

(Anonymous) 2014-11-11 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
You're adorable, anon. <3

Having a husbando is nice and all, but not when you're cheating on your RL partner.

Good for you! I should do the same, because I know that my fictional character loves would never look twice at me, because I dress and look like a slug. I should probably try harder?
