Considering how Kishimoto's handled the female characters in Naruto, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she was turned into a housewife. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I can understand the disappointment.

Well, no matter what she'd still be a ninja because everyone is. And how many other job options are there in that village in addition to "ninja"?

There are civilians in the manga, they just are rarely given focus because, well, they're pretty boring compared to the ninjas. Some of them run food stands (like Teuchi, the ramen dude), stores and the like.

I wouldn't be surprised if she really is a housewife, but people acting like this is a betrayal of her character or something confuses me. Sakura's been treated like shit as a character from pretty much the very beginning, if she wasn't Sasuke's housewife she'd probably have just ended up being Naruto's.
