The only option is to only ever read/watch things that are already complete. Because creators like to play with out hearts. I see a fourth one is also supposedly in development.

Fourth series? I want to be excited, but I'll believe it when I see it. :/

Also, I suffer from wanting to watch/read series from Day One. If I think something looks cool I suddenly lose my ability to wait and see how it progresses. (On the flip side, I've gotten very good at quitting series when I've had enough.)
