What they said. Soak in cold water and soap (dish soap is good), scrub the stained bit against another bit of the mat to work the soap in and get as much of the stain out as possible. That might just fix it. Otherwise soak then wash in the machine. But *hang* to dry, don't put it in the dryer. The heat of a dryer tends to screw up the non-slip backing most bath-mats have.

Cald water and salt works well, too. That got a really bad stain out of some jeans once for me.
