Remember, Bashir did show Garek "Julius Caesar" to Garek in "Improbable Cause." Garek thought it was a silly play. That how could Julius not see the betrayal coming from a mile away. But then in the next episode "The Die is Cast" Garek is on Tain's ship ship with Odo and the whole thing blows apart because Garek and Tain couldn't see the betrayal coming from the Romulans because one of them was actually a Foundling. To which Garek sees how the play does have a point. "The fault is not in our stars but within ourselves."
