(Anonymous) 2014-11-12 05:44 am (UTC)(link)Unless all the preliminary tests are wrong, my big sister has ovarian cancer. We know there's a pretty big tumor but we don't really know any details about it, and she's having a difficult time scheduling an appointment with doctors at the KU Med Center (which all accounts seem to indicate is the best center in the country for the type of cancer she probably has.
If you can't tell by my word choice, I'm hoping that those early tests are wrong and its benign. Also that she can get into and out of surgery beautifully (because even if it's not malignant, it can't stay.)
But mostly and above everything else, I just hope she's going to be OK, and whatever the diagnosis or treatments end up that she's going to be around until we're both old amd gray, because she's my best friend and I can't imagine my life without her. (Well I have been, and it leaves me in tears each time.)
