only under catholic doctrine. evangelicals? everyone can be an exorcist.

I say this as a former non-denominational christian who witnessed a few. supposedly helped "cleanse" a house even though the whole time I was going "uhhhhhh no?"

LOL hope you ran far and fast from those crazies! I am also nondenom but far more normal--in my group, only ordained ministers can cast out demons, and no one is seriously wacko enough to think everyone who isn't our kind of Christian is possessed (the way Evangelicals do). Even the rare time when they do cast out a demon from someone, there's no great high drama over it, it's just like, Imma say the words (and the Word) and get it done, and that's it. Game over for the unclean spirit.

oh yeah, I did. we were all pretty young but I could still tell that the rest of them just followed the hivemind. if their sensationalist youth pastor said it, it was true.
