I feel like I've been guilty of this. Way back when, I wrote a sequel to a fairly popular story. They each had a bunch of chapters. But my sequel wasn't planned like the original story. It was going along great and getting some good reviews. But I had the hardest time finishing it. My final chapter is rather pathetic but it was literally the only thing in me to finish the thing (and still is).

I wouldn't be surprised if people were disappointed by it. I just hope it didn't ruin the rest of the story for them. (I personally felt it was just lackluster but not something that would ruin anything.)
