Care to spoil the ending??? XD I have it on my list of things to reread, but I'm still angry about the reveal of Al's 'real' House, so I've been procrastinating on finishing the series.

... Which is probably a silly reason to procrastinate on it, I'll admit, but I really wanted Slytherin to have one real representative amongst the Founders, rather than one that's really from a different house and is only doing it because there's no one else who can.

Uh, basically, while Harry does kill Voldemort by destroying the last horcrux that is in his head while they are all in the land of the dead (it is as confusing as it sounds), it turns out that Remus is the heir of Godric Gryffindor and the real hero of the series. And the "red to black and red to brown" thing does not turn out to be Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny. It is Dumbledore, Snape, the unborn Remus/Danger baby, and I can't remember the 4th.

Honestly that is what I remember. I've kind of blocked it out. There was more to it than that, but the basic gist is that Remus is the ultimate hero of the series. Not Harry. Not even both Remus and Danger. Just Remus.

Which wouldn't have been so bad, since he began as the POV character and hero, except that it was being set up as a team effort with Harry playing the linchpin role. And instead we got a lot of "well, that's nice, but really look how special Remus is!" at the last minute.

I just... wow. That's... quite a switch from all of the set-up from most of the series, holy crap. o.o

That sounds awful. :/ Thanks for telling me! I just don't know how I feel about the news...

I think some of it stems from the author publishing some original fiction that took a lot of elements from the Dangerverse. And once she was focused more on the original fiction and less on the Harry Potter universe, not only was her heart not as much in it but I think some of the differences in her original fiction crept into the fanfic.
