I have been realizing more and more how much I hate fics that are purposely ~cool~ and ~experimental~ in structure without having any substance, because the authors just love the look of their own words. These authors wind up fooling themselves into thinking they're great writers because get away with this kind of insubstantial shit in fanfic, where all the substance is pre-provided in canon. And then it just encourages them to write even more substance-less, pretentiously overwritten bullshit. Bleh.

i'm not going to use capitalisation because it's more minimalist.

one sentence scenes are more deep.


They all sound the same, too. There's this particular way of phrasing sentences they use that just annoys the shit out of me.
