This is pretty much the risk you run when you get invested with anything. No matter how great something is, it will always be the ending that makes or breaks it and there is nothing as frustrating as loving something in its entirely and being let down at the end.

(This is what pisses me off about 90% of the movies I've seen lately; they're brilliant, but then come the ending, something is wrong and there's either a plot twist that came out of nowhere and ruins an otherwise-perfect ending, or it's just unsatisfactory. Identity and The Descent come to mind.)
