There's a significant difference between recommending someone get an allergy and sensitivity work-up, and suggesting they go gluten-free right out of the gate. The former is reasonable, the latter is worse than useless, since not only will it not help at all if the patient's not Celiac or gluten-sensitive, it will render any tests for gluten sensitivity ineffective.

Yeah, definitely not the right approach. I just wanted OP to know that it wasn't a completely random idea, like holding a full moon drum circle to improve fertility or something.

Having a doctor at least suggest that I should have a work-up might have saved me two and a half years of pretty much not having a life.
