silverr: abstract art of pink and purple swirls on a black background (ToS_bitterdregs)

Definitely! I just happen to know what it's called because I always wind up calling it "The Apple" (for reasons I noted above). At least Space Hippies has things to laugh at; The apple, otoh, to me is just ... my memory is that not only is the ep entirely humorless, to me personally it's always been borderline offensive (mostly because of the bronzing gel that always makes me think of blackface) on top of the the "orange people (aka PoC) are naive and primitive" presentation with a bit of Noble Savage tossed in). Obviously no one is likely to do an ep like this today unless they were going for satire (I'm sure Key & Peele could do something scathing and hilarious with it.)

(Of course, I also know that, in the cultural context of the time, the notion that Adam and Eve weren't white was actually a bit radical for the general population, but that doesn't stop the episide from making me cringe.)

tl;dr I always skip this one.

ETA: IMO you should watch every ep of TOS least once; your takeaway is likely to be entirely different than mine.
