I'm not optimistic based on the trailer. Normally the funniest stuff is in the trailer, so . . .

Then again, among all the movie trailers before Big Hero 6, the only one that was actually funny was, of all things, that hideous live action/CGI SpongeBob SquarePants movie. I pity the reviewers who have to sit through Night at the Museum 3.

Is Big Hero 6 any good? The basic idea intrigues me. But I really, really hated the teaser trailer, and I didn't like the full trailer much better.

Let me put it this way: sometimes, I walk out of the movie theater feeling content, thinking "That was a good movie." Sometimes, I walk out half stunned, thinking "That was a really, really good movie." That was a really, really good movie.

That's good to know. I guess I'll go see it.

Part of my issue was that the teaser trailer basically felt like a fat joke, and it kind of seemed like the robot was going to be one big walking fat joke.

The other part of my problem was most likely how many times I saw the main trailer given how many times I saw Guardians of the Galaxy and other movies this summer. It got old really fast when it was playing in front of every single movie.

I actually saw a reviewer address this as a body-positive movie--there are jokes in relation to Baymax's size, but they're not really at his expense. I'm not sure I buy that reading, but any way you slice it, he's a pretty cool character. (I'd gush about why, but I'd get way into spoiler territory.)

They'll probably be kind to Night at the Museum 3 given that it's one of Robin Williams' last roles.
