So they'' be having a reenactment in Charleston? Never been to one, are they fun?

The Charleston trip and the Appomattox, VA trip are separate. AFAIK, Charleston doesn't do reenactments.

I consider reenactments a lot of fun. You get to dress up and see other people dress up, there are usually lectures and living history exhibits, and some of the reenactments have fashion shows. The battles are always fun to watch, especially if the people participating get really into it.
