My sister, who is also my best friend, was diagnosed last week with a giant tumor on her ovary that preliminary tests aren't calling cancerous. We already got a little bit lucky in that what was originally a first meeting with her surgeon for Dec. 9 has been able to move to next week, but it's still scary and stressful, so I'd happily take any support anyone can offer.

Your sister has a good shot. It's noncancerous and surgical resection has a very good shot of curing her. I would support her, listen to the doctor, and not stress out too much.

If it's not malignant then she has a really good chance of being cured after surgery and monitoring. Stay strong!

I don't even know what to say other than I'm sorry you guys have to go through this and I hope you all pull through. I know you must be terrified and that's a natural reaction. It's good your sister has you for support, but remember to take care of yourself in the meantime, too. Good luck with everything, and try not to lose hope.

Benign then? That's a plus, and I'll be hoping for a good recovery :) It's going to be taxing before and after for her, but remember to take of yourself too. Your sister is very lucky to have you by her side through this.

Hm. You reminded me of a similar thing that happened to my own sister last year (brain tumour though), and I guess I was a bit overly optimistic before reading your earlier correction above. I still wish for the best outcome of course, and that your meet with the surgeon will help alleviate or straighten out your concerns and what to be wary of. Rooting for you dudes o/
