You are not in any way than them. On a related note, the only thing stopping me getting a daki of my favourite character is the fact that I don't have the self-confidence to deal with visitors seeing it.

Whoops.

You are not in any way *better* than them.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-15 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Same on the self confidence thing.

I envision myself trying to stuff it into the closet or something and it falling out on top of guests.

I feel the same about a lot of merchandise though, truthfully. I'd buy a lot more figures etc. if I could somehow justify to friends/family why a grown woman would have them all over her house.

(^ I'm aware that part's my issue, I'm not judging the people who do. Actually I'm quite envious of them.)

AYRT

I actually do have a lot of figures. Dozens of the fuckers. That's part of the reason I can't get a daki. Like, it's hard enough to explain this stuff as is, a body pillow is just one step too far.

I feel the same way about lewd figures, even though I find a couple of them quite beautiful (Like Skytube's Shirayukihime, for example). I just...you can't explain that shit in a satisfactory way. I can never go there, even though I sort of want to.

You know the anime waifu part is just a cover, right?

You can take it off and fold it somewhere safe.

Depends. Some of them are actually printed on the pillow. Of course, in that case I guess you could get a plain pillowcase to cover it with.

What if you forget to take it off one day? What if you leave it somewhere where someone else finds it? What if you live with others and someone needs to wake you up in the middle of the night? If someone finds it after it you tried to hide it that will make it evern weirder. Personally, I'd rather not risk it.

what if you die in a car crash and never have the pleasure of own your husbando daki? what then?

your life for naught?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well if the joy from getting a daki of my husbando outweighed all that then obviously I'd get one. As is it's more of a "Yeah, that would be kind of nice", so it's not worth the downsides.

Yeah. "I can't fall asleep without him" => sorry, anon, you have the exact same issues these "creepy weirdos" have.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-15 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
See what happens when you start assuming that creepiness is gendered? You end up being OP. Nobody wants that.

OP might still be male - you're assuming, too. Not that I disagree that creepiness isn't gendered.

Fair point; I guess I'm jumping to my own conclusions.

Do visitors normally see your bedroom? Nobody sees mine.... Why not just tug your covers up over the pillow every day, and if anyone asks, say you have a back/hip/knee issue and a body pillow helps you sleep more comfortably. Not like you have to show it to them or anything.

Eh, i dunno - why worry about something that most likely just isn't gonna happen?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, actually. All the time. My bedroom is just off the lounge and I don't like keeping the door shut because I have no openable windows. I also live with 3 flatmates, so keeping it from them would be difficult.

In general as well I don't like keeping things hidden. It stresses me out. As for the covering it up thing, I NEVER make my bed so if I suddenly started doing that it would seem suspicious as.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Start several weeks beforehand to throw off the scent and then order your husbando. That doesn't handle the stress mind you. But all things are possible.
