Pretty much, yea. Lengthy discussions of Murder Rooms and Sherlock Holmes. ... Lenghty intelligent discussion of Murder Rooms and Sherlock Holmes.

Aside from Murder Rooms, I always associate with this song, which uses the phrase "dree your weird."

I'm technically Russian (well, it's complicated, but people generally think of me as one), and I've talked quite a bit about Russian literature, so that's reasonable 9_9 I love Dostoevsky in general and BK in particular!

>that smell old books have

that's one thing I've always wanted to be associated with.

I'll have to check Colette out. Seeing as I love both literature AND cats.

I'm now wondering what "technically Russian" entails and how it's complicated, but won't push if you don't want to say.

I'm a Russian-Estonian Jew with a quarter of Crimean Tatar by blood; I was born in Estonia; went to school in Moscow; spent about two thirds of my life in Russia and one third in Estonia; my native language is Russian; half of my extended family only speaks Estonian. My Jewish granny was a major influence on me, too, as was my Muslim Crimean Tatar granddad. I've two citizenships, too - a Russian one and an Estonian one.

You see the difficulty here.

Well, that's definitely interesting, trough. I always find it interesting how different people define their nationality/heritage, especially in times where people are very mobile in the world.

ACD, of course! :)

(Oh, also...I'll admit that I'm still touched by you asking about my husband all that time ago, and I associate you with that)

eta: and I don't really know why I used the image of Burke!Watson. It always makes me smile, so that's why, I suppose.
