Why terrorist attack? Not trying too be obnoxious, it just seems so...unpredictable. I actually came very close to being at the Mumbai terror attacks (I was supposed to be at the station, but we left a day early because my friend was having a bad case f culture shock)...but, it's just not something I feel I ever could have predicted in advance (or obviously, I'd have been nowhere near).

Well, there was a shooting right near my university once, and from my dorms we sometimes used to hear them. One of my cousins was killed in a terrorist attack. There was a knifing attack on a bus near my house. A friend of mine's father narrowly missed being on a bus that got blown up.
There have been several attacks by car near the apartment I lived in while I was in uni.
I mean of course you can't predict them, but I've been in the vicinity of plenty, and OP asked what we think. I admit I didn't consider the statistical chances for very long, but my family doesn't have any hereditary diseases or anything, so I can't really predict something in that direction.

Fair enough, that does sound like you've been around a rather above-average amount of violence.

Regrettably, that's life here these days. It's gotten worse again in the past few weeks, I think fifteen or so people have died.

they already mentioned they live in Israel. not everyone can/wants to move despite the risk.
