That is the only explanation.

Because really, I see this all the time, official translations being picked to shreds for stupid reasons when the lauded scanlations are abominable Jinglish nonsense.

From now on, I'll just think that someone is popping a boner every time I see that gibberish.

DA Honesty time. When I first started getting into manga I was mostly reading scanlations, and I really liked the Jinglish because I thought it was a different writing style. It came across as more artsy and ~deep~ because it was unfamiliar.

A couple days ago I read Naruto 700 after years of not reading it, and reading "dattebayo/basa" and "Shannaro" made me cringe so much.

Well, when I'm paying for something I want it to be REALLY good, so I'm picky about quality.

If something is free, then I don't think I can complain about it (though tbh I hate when bad fantranslations are glorified and defended, but that's all)
