(Anonymous) 2014-11-17 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)In Days of Future Past, they referred to Pietro only as Peter. They heavily implied that he was Magneto's son, but we didn't see Wanda at all. He was however, very obviously a mutant, because it was an X-Men story and the Marvel mutants are their (Fox's) business
In Age of Ultron, Wanda and Pietro are together and get to keep their names (and their powers). They DON'T get to keep their backstory - Magneto won't be mentioned and I'm fairly sure the word mutant won't ever be used. The teaser at the end of Winter Soldier suggested to me that the Marvel Studios story is gonna be that Baron von Strucker GAVE them their powers through experimenting with the infinity stone in Loki's sceptre, which I'm guessing is meant to be the mind gem. And though I'll miss Magneto in the twins' story...as scrambling around to cover their bases for copyright purposes goes, this story works out pretty well.
