I've NEVER seen an Alice adaptation that did the books justice. And I've seen lots of them, including some really obscure ones.

Have you seen Malice in Wonderland? That one's got it flaws like the rest of them, but I think it really nailed the wtf tone while keeping the story somewhat coherent, which isn't an easy feat.
