Not the point, but I really like the color scheme of the video. I'm really glad pastel colors seem to be getting more love lately, for a long time, it seemed like everyone disliked them.

"Baby Got Back" didn't help? I found it much more body-positive, myself.

Read the lyrics. That song is not about loving big girls, it's about loving skinny girls with round asses.

I memorized the lyrics a long time ago, and I suggest you look up "thick" and work out what "Only if she's 5'3"" might refer to.

I think it's catchy and all, and I respect whats it trying to do, but the whole "skinny bitches"
part kinda makes me roll my eyes. Nothing turns me off more then a "body positivy" song filled with catty mean-girl bullcrap.

This. It's not so much "uplifting" as a bunch of Regina George 'sorry-not-sorry' "I'm special because boys think I'm pretty and everyone else sucks." The entire song is based around what she's not and why she's sooooo much better than those "fake", "silicone," "barbie doll," "size 2," "ain't real," "photoshop," "stick-figure," "skinny-bitches-no-I'm-just-kidding," types.

Also, would it have killed them to add more bass to the song?

Very much agree but it also might be cathartic for some to have a song be insulting to all the girls in their childhood and adolescence who called them fat. I get the feeling that's where this song came from. So I'm not saying it's good but I can also empathize with it being a woman of size myself.

I think you might be an idiot whose self-esteem is dependent on bringing other people down.

I loved this song when I first heard it, way before it actually was released and became huge. I thought it was great, not only because it was catchy but it was a good message behind it. And it felt like it was a song for me, who has an unconventional body-type. Then when tumblr got a hold of it, it was like a chew toy for the SJW's to tear apart. "It's skinny shaming! It's harmful! It's about getting a man to love you!"

While I don't claim there isn't an issue with this song, I now can't enjoy it without thinking of all the fucking wank that goes with it. It completely ruined the song for me.

What I'm trying to say, OP, is that good for you for taking the message and running with it. If it worked for you, then good!

I'm glad I never look up music on tumblr then. :( I'm skinny and I love this song. It's catchy. I don't have to 100% approve a message to enjoy art.

'm fat. And I hate that song and others like it. I'm tired of not-even-fat women singing about how glorious fatness is and I'm tired of this whole "real guys like flab durhurrhurr" stuff.
Also, the song is really fucking annoying.

I deserve a body positive anthem, and I don't need it to fit everyone's criteria to be perfect-- it doesn't need to be perfect, period, to make people feel good. It is what it is and it makes me feel pretty rockin' when I dance around to it.

Why do you deserve an anthem at other people's expense?
