Pop Music Day on F!S

(Anonymous) 2014-11-18 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
In honor of secrets... *checks* 1, 6, 9, and 10, this is a pop music thread. Post about poptimism and share the best pop videos you got

(pop music can be from any genre or era, even if it wasn't popular, or even if it was) (this thread is about love, not genre boundaries)

IMO "Blackout" in general was an underrated gem. I think the critics liked it, but only one of my friends liked it at the time. I've been a Britney stan since Day 1, so I liked it blindly back then because it was Britney, but hindsight has really made me appreciate how solid that album was.

I think Hafanana (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZN2y-bJ-kQ) could've been really popular in the UK/US if it were promoted anywhere but in the Eastern bloc.

This is way better than Gentleman. Ugh kpop why do you not pick the best songs for singles?

Also Psy looks great live. Wish he would have done more than just the morning talk shows here. (I would love a YG Family concert in the States)

STILL the most progressive body positivity song I know! Plus it contains love for female athletes over models, and a downright great model of communicating needs, expectations, and boundaries for a relationship.

"I'd love to be in a relationship with you because you're my type; I promise not to be verbally or physically abusive in any way, but I do have a high libido and I like a lot of sex, so I thought I should be clear about that up front rather than risk miscommunication."
