Everything about her attitude, lyrics, and general personality that comes across in her work is petty and stupid and incredibly vapid, whether it's popular or not.

Given how much pride she apparently takes in how involved she is in the writing etc. side of her music, then I can only take the end product as a fair reflection of her. Or she's purely a marketing plot for the big record label boys, in which case she's still petty, stupid and vapid, so I really fail to see your point.

Plenty of people write vapid or strictly fun music. It doesn't make them, as people, stupid or petty. Have you ever watched an interview with her? Not saying she belongs in MENSA, but she hardly comes off as an idiot.

Given that they at least sound like they deigned to actually listen to a Taylor Swift album before forming an opinion, I'd have to disagree. Giving something a try and hating it =/= elitists who wouldn't have touched it with a twenty-foot pole in the first place before judging.
